Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Ram 1500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit. Before we do that though, let's just take a minute, check this out and talk about why it's a good idea to use something like this. We have the Demco Charge Line Kit set up on our truck and I feel like a charge line is one of those components that are often overlooked, but they really do make a big difference. And what the charge line is gonna do is more or less trickle charge or maintain your Ram's battery whenever you're flat towing it down the road. And that's important because a lot of times, you know your supplemental braking system, whenever that operates, that's gonna draw power from your truck's battery. more

Fixing a Leaky Transmission Fitting- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Derale transmission line compression fitting. Now if you come in here, you'll see that we've got it installed on our vehicle already. Now the issue that we we inchesre having here is that you can see our crimp fittings from the factory down here. We didn't want to have to replace the entire line set just because one crimp fitting was faulty. This top crimp fitting here was leaking, so we just replaced it using the Derale fitting. more

Curt Adapter Rails for Curt Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at these Curt Adapter Rails on our 2022 Ram 2500. Now that's going to be an adapter piece from the factory puck system if your RAM came with that in the bed and adapt it so you can use your pre-existing Curt Fifth Wheel with Slider Base. So if you already have that from a previous truck and you just mounted it up to your ISR rails, then this is going to be the piece that lets you use it with your new truck that has the prep package for towing. So rather than getting a whole new fifth wheel that's designed to work with that factory puck system, you can use what you already have, drop it into this adapter piece and keep using it as normal. Curt Safety Chain Loops Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at these Curt Replacement Safety Chain Loops for your factory puck system on your 2022 Ram 2500. Of course, you can get this in the full kit if you've got a gooseneck trailer you need to tow where it comes with the two and 5/16 inch ball and both safety chain loops. But if for whatever reason one of these becomes missing or just not working anymore, you can pick up replacements of just the safety chain loops and it's going to work just like your old ones. So let's check them out. So this comes with all the same pins that your old one did and it'll drop into those factory pucks just like it did before, securing in with both pins to keep it locked up (metal clanking) and in place. more

What's up, everybody It's A.J. with etrailer.com Today, we're gonna be checking out the Curt Q20 5th wheel hitch assembly. And today we're putting it on the Curt adapter for the above-bed puck system that comes OEM with this 2022 Ram 2500. Right away we wanna point out that we are in a shorter six foot bed on this Ram. So this would really only work with a longer bed and eight for one just because of it's a static hitch, it's not gonna move around. So it would work with a slider. more

But before we get into that, why don't we take a minute, refresh yourselves on the main parts that we're gonna need to flat tow our Ram down the road in the first place and then we can check out the kit itself and make sure it's something that's gonna work for you. There's gonna be a total of five main components that you're gonna need. The first one will be your base plate and that's gonna provide us with a solid attachment point. That way we can hook our tow bar up to it. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2019 Ram 1500- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Bar crossbar system here for your tonneau covers. We're gonna be taking a look at it on our 2019 Ram 1500 with our Mountain Top tonneau cover. Now we are going to be using this with the rails here. Any other tonneau cover that has a rail system like the Pace Edwards UltraGroove or the RetraxPRO XR, those are gonna work just fine. Same deal, it's just gonna slide in the tracks here, but it's basically going to give you a set of crossbars above the tonneau cover. more

BrakeBuddy Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Kit Installation - 2021 Ram 1500- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install, the Brake Buddy towed vehicle battery charge line kit here, on a 2021 Ram 1500. So a battery charge line kit is gonna be a requirement here for your Ram 1500 because unfortunately, the battery does drain while you're towing it behind your motor home. So unless you want to arrive to your destination with a dead battery, you're gonna need to install some sort of battery charge line. There's a couple different options out there on the market. I really like this one, the best here. They have a nice little LED indicator which you can't see now, cause it's really bright and sunny out, but there's an LED indicator on there that lets you know, your battery's being charged and it comes with everything for you. more

Reese Weight Distribution Shank Installation - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Hi there Ram owners, HEMI 2013 Ram 1500. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your Reese weight distribution shank with the extended nine hole adjustment shank that gives you an additional drop or rise. This is particularly useful after you have lifted your vehicle so that way you can get the appropriate adjustment to match up to your trailer. And this is what our new shank looks like when it's installed. You can see here that we we're able to get a significantly more drop compared to the one that we had removed, and that's thanks to the additional adjustment holes that we've got available on the shank here. This shank's gonna be a great replacement if you are either going to lift your truck or you're purchasing a new truck that just has a much higher ride height than your old one did. more

Hello Ram owners standard 2012 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Charge Line Kit, and your Charge Line Kit. You really don't even see it installed on your vehicle. It integrates into your existing diode wiring. So, you'll have to already have a connector here at the front to attach your Charge Line too our connector here at the front is a six pole connector. This is the most common connector type for a flat tow setup. It's putting a six pole here at the front. more

It's Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles on our 2013 Ram 1500.Now, if you're going to be towing your Ram behind your motor home, chances are you probably have a supplemental braking system along with all the other components to flat tow it. Well, part of that breaking system, it runs off of the battery on your Ram. So we're not running our Ram when we're towing it so the engine's not running and it's not charging the battery, but the battery is still being used by the braking system, not to mention all the lights. So by the time we're getting where we're going, we had better hope that our battery's not dead, because then we're going to have to worry about finding jumper cables and everything else. But our charge line kit is going to make sure that our battery has a maintenance charge on it the entire time that we're towing. more

So this is going to be a great addition to your guys's Ram, just because we're going to be able to use the top of the truck along with the bed of our truck. So we're going to be able to get even more goods on the top of our cab here, just to maybe free up some space on the inside of the cab for some of our passengers. Today I'm going to walk you through the installation on Demco's Air Force One Supplemental Braking System on our 2015 Ram 1500.Adding a breaking system to your vehicle, one, is going to make it legal so you can flat tow your vehicle. Two, it's going to make it safer because you're not relying on the brakes on the RV to stop both vehicles.The Air Force One is going to be a proportional braking system. It's going to be designed to work with RVs that have air brakes. How it works is when you apply the brakes on the RV, the air pressure coming from the RV's brakes is sent through to the system mounted inside the towed vehicle, intern applying the brakes. It's going to be one of five main components in a flat tow setup for the Ram 1500.You're going to have your braking system. more

Truck Bed Cargo Camera Installation - 2018 Ram 3500- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to walk you through the installation on the truck bed cargo camera for your 2018 Ram 3500.This kit is going to replace your third brake light, which is mounted on the cab of the truck. This is going to be your third brake light here, and another type of rear camera is you would use your factory third brake light, but it would actually mount underneath and kind of hang down a little bit. This is all integrated in one, so you would actually take out your brake light here and you would put this one in.It's got the camera pre installed in it. The kit's going to come with all the wiring necessary to run it. It's also going to come with a toggle switch that allows you to switch your camera, if you have, again, factory monitor for reverse light on your tailgate. more

Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers Installation - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at and installing part number 3024-P, which is a Tekonsha plug in wiring adaptor for electric brake controllers. Now we're gonna be installing this in conjunction with the Tekonsha prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195. Now, our adaptor harness here is gonna make wiring up our brake controllers, much easier. All we're gonna have to do is plug into the existing port underneath our dash and then plug this in, into our brake controller.Now, it's gonna work with several different kinds of brake controllers. Whether it be, time activated controller or a proportional brake controller. This adaptor is gonna make our life much easier when installing, and we're not gonna have to run wires all the way from the back of our vehicle at the 7-Way, all the way up front.Now, we're gonna need to go underneath our dash to find our factory port. more

Blue Ox Towing Accessories Kit Installation - 2017 Ram 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 RAM 1500 Rebel, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Blue Ox Towing Accessories Kit for the Alpha and Aventa LX Tow Bars. This offers the 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil cable, and a 10,000 pound capacity. Part number is BX88231.Now the Flexo-Coil is gonna have the 7-pole standard end, which will connect to the back of our RV, and the 6-pole end that we can connect to the plug that we installed in the front of the truck. You can see it's designed with some spring back; that's gonna help prevent it, just like our safety chains here, from hanging down and potentially dragging on the ground, causing damage.Now, the tab on the top will go up as we slide our connector in position, and we wanna be sure that they tab on the door goes down behind that to hold it. The same thing for our 6-pole end here, got that little groove on the top, that faces up, and then the catch is gonna go right behind that.Now, our accessories kit also has three locks with it. We've got one that's 5/8" in diameter, that's designed to secure our tow bar to the back of our RV. more

Today on our 2017 Ram 3500 we're going to be taking a look at the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for a RAM OEM 5th wheel towing prep packages. Part number DM6099. Here's where our base rails look like installed in our truck. As you can see, they're going to utilize our factory mounting points into the under-bed installation kit that was provided from the factory. This kit is going to allow you to tow using a 5th wheel trailer hitch that mounts to above-bed rails. It's made of a steel construction and it has a black powder coat finish so it's going to resist corrosion and rust. more

Westin License Plate Relocation Kit Installation - 2012 Ram 2500- Video
Today we are going to take a look at and show you how to install the Westin license plate relocation kit. The Westin ultimate and E series bull bar. Part number is 32-0055. Now in this application, the bull bar itself sits directly in front of our front license plate. Some states require that you have this front plate present. It's going to have the bracket, that's going to mount onto one of the already existing bolts right in the bottom that holds on the skid plate here, here in the front. Its going to have 2 rubber bumpers. more

Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Kit Installation - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2013 Ram 1500 we're going to review and install the Roadmaster 7 Wire to 6 Wire Flex Coil kit, part number RM-146-7. Now here's what the round six pin connector is going to look like once it's installed. Also supplied with our install kit, is going to be the umbilical cord that's going to go from your towed vehicle to the tow vehicle. The six round is going to be the silver connector here. It'll plug directly into our six round connector on the vehicle. Then we'll route the other side, which is the seven blade style, to the tow vehicle. more

Superwinch 4-Circuit Breaker Installation - 2014 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2014 RAM Pickup Truck 2500 series we're going to be installing a super wench replacement 4 circuit breaker with bracket, part number SW90-22147, on a vehicle that has a super wench Talon series off road wench part number Sw1612210. We'll first begin here by raising up the hood. Now over here on the driver side battery, you can see here, this is where they already have the wench wiring connected to the positive side of the battery. So, we'll need to first disconnect that, and then we'll add our new circuit breaker inline. Go ahead and disconnect that for now. Go ahead and put this back on for now. Here's the circuit breaker that we're going to be installing today. more

Superwinch Front Mount Electric Winch Wiring Installation - 2014 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram Pickup, we'll be installing the Super Winch front vehicle electric winch wiring harness, part number SW2007. We'll begin here on the winch. We're going to need to remove the cover that covers up the center cylinoid section. We'll need to remove these four Allen head bolts right here up underneath the cover. Once these are done, we'll need to remove two more Allen head bolts here on the end, as well as five Phillips head screws up underneath. That will allow us to remove the cover and gain access to the bolt that holds the red wire, or the positive wire on the cylinoid side. more

Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Weight Distribution Shank Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, we'll be test fitting the Convert-A-Ball cushioned weight distribution shank for 2-inch hitches rated at 10,000 pounds, part number AMAC1. Now, our vehicle is equipped with a 2-1/2-inch hitch, so we'll be using the Blue Ox Hitch Reducer Sleeve from a 2-1/2-inch to a 2-inch hitch, part number BX88187. Before we begin our test fit, we'll need to get the hitch height of our pickup truck. With the adapter already inserted into the hitch, we have about a 24-inch hitch height. Keep in mind, this measurement may vary due to the tire size, hitch style, or after-market accessories. We'll start off our test fit in the drop position by sliding the shank of the weight distribution into the opening of our sleeve. We'll line up the 2 pin holes and then continue to slide the sleeve back into the hitch. We'll then insert the pin through the pin holes and then secure it with the clip on the other side. Now, there's a total of 7 holes on this weight distribution shank. more
